Congratulations to two new FSC certified forest companies:
In sum, we now have facilitated 8 FSC certificates, altogether 904,060 ha. Indonesia now has an area of 1.8 million ha under full FSC certification, an increase of 65% since 2010. |

This March, six Indonesian companies signed support agreements with The Borneo Initiative. In all a forest area of 358,787 ha. These companies are PT Carus Indonesia, PT Wana Bakti Persada Utama, PT Aditya Kirana Mandiri, and PT Inhutani II units Sei Tubu, Semama, and Malinau. Also the first forest enterprise from Papua New Guinea joined our programme, i.e. Cloudy Bay Ltd. Perum Perhutani KPH Banten (80,163 ha, West-Java) decided to cancel its participation but will continue FSC certification with the aid of TFT. For a list of TBI membership, visit our website. |

March 20th, the association of Indonesian forest concessionaires (APHI) and The Borneo Initiative signed a memorandum of understanding to formalise their cooperation in the promotion of legal and certified forest management, following both mandatory regulations (SVLK-PHPL) as well as voluntary principles and criteria (FSC). |
